Layton Mystery Detective Agency: Kat’s Mystery-Solving Files Anime Announced

The Professor Layton series has a huge following and despite being ripe for an anime adaptation, we’ve only ever had the fantastic Eternal Diva movie. That’s now changing with Layton Mystery Detective Agency: Kat’s Mystery-Solving Files which will see Katrielle Layton as she solves various mysteries.

Katrielle is still searching for her father, Hershel Layton, but it doesn’t seem as if this will follow the story of the game, and I think it’s safe to assume that each episode will follow a new mystery. As you can see in the image below, Hershel Layton’s shadow can be seen so maybe he’ll make an appearance?

Layton Mystery Detective Agency: Kat’s Mystery-Solving Files will begin airing this Spring. Original creators Level-5 are involved, and this is one series that’s been begging for a true anime TV series. Better late than never, right?
